Straight Out of the Camera

My camera has a setting for 'effects' which cover a wide range of effects you can apply before you shoot a photo -

Unfortunately I can never remember which ones I chose to achieve which effect. My favorites tho are 'photo illustration' and 'color sketch'. You can adjust how much of the effect you want in the camera setting, before you shoot.

Harking back to Tuesday's post are a few snaps of those same flowers, including one that is overdone - None of these photos have been edited, other than resizing -

I know for sure that this was shot in 'Pop' -

These two, not sure - either Photo Illustration or Color Sketch -

And this is over done -

  1. These are all pretty cool. I like the two in the middle the best. My camera doesn't have anything like that and I find it totally fascinating that a camera can do that.

    1. These were shot with my Nikon D3300 - there are 13 'effects' that you can set-up BEFORE you shoot. My little Canon Power Shot also has this capacity- not as many choices but still some but a big PITA to set up. One of the interesting effects is 'color select'. You can choose which color to feature - I just did a quick example which I'll post tomorrow...

  2. Love the third one! What fun to have these effects! I need to play around with my cameras more to see if I have anything like this.

    1. I think the third is my favorite as well, same basic setting as the second one but with different adjustments, in the camera, as to the thickness of the lines and the color vibrancy...I could never get this effect after the fact in a photo editing program. I'm willing to bet most newer cameras have these options - even my older PowerShot has a few of them. Try looking through the user manual???
