Editing before you shoot.

One of the effects settings on my camera is 'color selection'.  Before you actually shoot the picture you can choose which colors will be included, or excluded, depending on how you look at it...

Now I have done color select after the fact, and it's not easy with the photo editors I have available but I've discovered it's fairly simple if I do it BEFORE I snap the photo -

For example - here is a photo I took where I 'chose' the color of the blanket as the one I wanted to keep - every other color in the photo became grey...This is the photo straight out of the camera - no editing after the fact...

This is the photo taken with normal settings...

Both of my cameras have this feature - the Nikon D3300 as well as the little point-and-shoot Canon PowerShot.

  1. That is so cool. The selective color edit can be a real pain in the butt sometimes but this is awesome that the camera will do it for you

    1. It's not so easy to do it in the camera either LOL At least not for me I need to play with it more, it's hard to do with the cats because they don't stay still for long especially when they they see the camera, especially Frankie - I caught her sleeping and this shot was done quickly.

    1. I do too but I'm still trying to figure out how to use it, I think I got this purely by accident!
